At Minematters Foundation, we believe that mental wellness is a whole-body experience and that community connection is essential to healing. This belief inspired Move Your Mind, a vibrant one-day event held in May to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. Through movement, conversation, and shared purpose, the event brought people together to raise awareness and remind us all that our minds matter and we are stronger together.

What Move Your Mind Was All About
Held on the track and field of a local school, Move Your Mind was not your average awareness event. It combined the power of physical activity with the importance of emotional care in a high-energy, family-friendly atmosphere. Designed for all ages, the day featured a 3K walk and run, relay races, a Police versus Fire obstacle course, and wellness booths offering tools and support for mental health.
Every lap, every cheer, and every shared experience reminded us that movement is not just for the body. It is a powerful tool for the mind.
An Event Rooted in Purpose
May is a time to shine a light on mental health, to break the silence, and to uplift those who are often unseen. Move Your Mind offered more than a space to be active. It created a safe, welcoming environment where people could reconnect, open up, and feel supported.
Participants shared their stories. Families walked together. Local leaders not only showed up but also joined in the run with the community. The friendly Police versus Fire obstacle course brought laughter and unity to a serious cause.
From young children to older adults, people moved at their own pace, each one making a statement that mental health matters and that healing begins with action.

Lasting Impact
Move Your Mind left a lasting impression on everyone involved. Attendees walked away with more than just good memories. They took home mental health resources, tools to manage stress, and a renewed sense of connection. Many shared how powerful it felt to be in a space where wellness was celebrated, not hidden.
Volunteers and community partners have already asked how they can be involved next year. That is the kind of momentum we want to keep building. Awareness that goes beyond the event and turns into an everyday impact.
A Movement for Everyone
Move Your Mind is for everyone. It is for students learning how to process emotions. For parents juggling multiple roles. For teachers navigating classroom stress. For first responders who carry silent burdens. And for neighbors simply looking for hope.
This event reminded each person that they are not alone. Their struggles matter. Their minds matter. And when we move together, we heal together.
How You Can Be Part of the Movement
Although Move Your Mind is a one-day event, the movement does not stop there. You can still support the mission:
• Sponsor future events or help provide wellness materials
• Partner with us to bring mental wellness programs to more schools or communities
• Volunteer to assist with events or workshops
• Spread the word and encourage others to make their mental health a priority
Keep Moving Forward
At Minematters Foundation, we know healing happens through motion and connection. Move Your Mind proved that when people come together with purpose and compassion, real change is possible.
The journey does not end with one event. Let us keep walking, running, learning, and growing together.
